Taghazout works all year, but the swell, the crowds and the water temperature change a lot between October and April. Here is how to pick your week.
Taghazout sits on a stretch of Atlantic coast that catches North Atlantic swell almost all year, which is why the season here runs longer than most of Europe.
**October to April** is the main season. The North Atlantic is active, the points are working, and Anchor Point — the wave that put Taghazout on the map — starts breaking properly. Water sits around 18–20°C, so a 3/2 wetsuit is right.
**May to September** is smaller and warmer. This is the best window for beginners: the beach breaks at Panorama and Croco are forgiving, the water touches 22°C, and you can surf in a shorty or boardshorts.
If you have never surfed before, come in late spring or summer. If you already surf and want size, come between November and February.
